12 ounce bottle. Uh oh. Hazy orange amber, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of smoke, hibiscus, caramel, band-aid. The taste is pine, smoke, caramel, floral notes, citrus. Medium bodied, just too much going on.

Bottle. Oak, molasses, chocolate, roasted barley malt, and dry hay aroma - great. Black with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet molasses, chocolate, roasted barley, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Decent body. A great stout.

12oz bottle. So...this was hard to categorize, like most Furthermore beers. I was close to putting it in Black IPA because it has some malt and hop qualities that could work there. Or a Belgian Stout, as the yeast notes are certainly a prominent, but not overbearing, part of the beer. Sort of nails it as far as pleasantly incorporating the yeast into a dark ale. Solid offering.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after a Friday work day in an empty nest before a friends going away party. Appearance is an amber brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is rich in coffee with nice caramel / malty undertones, smell is nice and decadent without being too sweet. Taste goes down very nicely, definitely strong in coffee but crisp without being too bitter. I’m really liking this one.

Draft. Crystal clear golden amber color, tan head. Aroma of toasted caramel biscuit. Big coffee flavor, but both the body and the beery characteristics are preserved. Works for me.

12oz bottle. Filtered amber-copper body. Thin, unimpressive off-white head. The aroma is all over the place, smoke, caramel, red fruit. Whereas the regular Viking Afternoon was pretty nice and straightforward, this is sort of a mess. Not smoke centered enough to really be considered a smoked, this is more of a fruited amber at this point. Maybe an oddball winter warmer. Not one I’d be too excited to revisit. OK.
