Description
Established in 1719, Belhaven is Scotland’s oldest working brewery. With abundant local barley, fine water from the brewery well and access to markets up and down the coast, Belhaven was the perfect place for a brewery back then, and it still is today. In 1719, Dunbar market gardener John Johnstone erected a brewery close to Belhaven Bay and founded a brewing dynasty which was to last for 250 years and a brewery which would last much longer. The brewery and maltings persevered through the wars and upheavals of the early 20th Century and was eventually sold by John Johnstone’s descendants in 1972. In 2005 is was taken over by Greene King who kept the Brewery open in Scotland.

440ml maybe nitro can. Pours black with a great nitro off white head, very fine bubbles & wonderful texture. Aroma is mild, dark roast malt & a hint of coffee.Beer is smooth, near dry with an up front chocolate taste, very easy to drink.
One of the best 4ish ABV straight stouts i can remember.

Bottle. Golden color with a surprising small head for an IPA. Aroma is skunky, with a touch of citrus. Taste is rather bland for an IPA. Too skunky in taste.

Zapach bardzo ładny karmelowy i słodowy, trochę ziemiste. Piana nietrwała ciemnobrązowe, ciemnorubinowe. Smak karmelowy, słodkie, ziemiste trochę. Nisko nagazowane, chociaż słodkie, trochę śliwkowe. Ciało średnie. W odczuciu w ustach trochę torfowe. Alkohol niewyczuwalny. Ogólnie bardzo dobre i słodkie takie deserowe.

0.5 l can @ Mijas. Pours pitch black with thin, permanent beige head. Nose is slight roasted/coffee notes, taste is quite the same with short, coffeeish finish. Extremely smooth, with almost non-existent carbonation, and light body. In fact, a bit too light for my liking.
