Had to try one these "Cheap" lagers from the east, a favorite among the local college populace. Faint grain aroma and taste, bland palate and finish. Typical pale lager.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry, tart and bitter with a bit of vague citrus. The flavor was malty, bready and tart with notes of lemon and Windex. Medium length finish. Light to medium body. Not good.

From old notes - Pours near black with a big tan head that fades quickly. It smells of roast malt and a little chocolate. It tastes of sweet malt, a little roast, and chocolate. Itβs light to medium bodied and seemed overly sweet for the style. Minimal hops. Mediocre. Iβm surprised the ratings are as high as they are. I suppose if I see it again sometime I will give it another try.

From old notes - Pours light amber and clear with a small off-white head. It tastes of sweet malt, grain and caramel. Bland. Underwhelming.

Not the worst beer I've ever consumed.

12oz bottle. Orange-tan body. Lots of carbonation bubbles rising to meet a big, foamy, soapy, off-white head. A little old school certainly, but still a decent IPA. Chewy malt tones and a mellow piny grapefruit hop flavor. Fruity English yeast tones. Canβt compete with the World Class beers, but is still an enjoyable, well made beer.

Bottle on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. Pours perfectly clear yellow with a light, creamy white head. Simple stuff: sugary dough, light straw, mellow bitterness, cereal. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet dough and cereal on the finish. As pale lagers go, this is fine.

Average, but bland pale lager. Pale golden in color with minimal head, cereal taste and aroma. run of the mill, had to wash down some Greek food in Chicago.

Can on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I, 06/07/13, thanks to James (Jredmond) for this top pale lager want! Can badged as "Lionshead Deluxe Pilsener". Clear pale blonde with a thin white head. Nose is pale malts, cereals, sugar, light citrus. Taste comprises lightly toasted malt, sugars, bread dough, light citrus. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish. Ok as the pale lager world goes - it won the showdown for me over Leightons beloved Utica Club! Just !
