About
Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery was founded in June of 2004, following the purchase of Express-Broue, a small brewery situated in St-Eustache. The three new owners had been coworkers at Imperial Tobacco, and shared the same ambition of becoming entrepreneurs following the closing of the factory. Because they all lived on the south shore of Montreal, they decided to move their operation to Brossard.

In the month of May 2011, the company moved a few doors down to Matte Boulevard in Brossard. Their new location was three times bigger to be able to meet the demands of their ever increasing clientele. Following this move, Les Trois Mousquetaires Microbrewery beer is available in over 500 locations around Quebec, and has begun exporting it’s beers to Ontario, the west of Canada, the United States, and Australia.

In 2014, the microbrewery celebrates its 10 years of success, and continues its expansion in Quebec, Canada, the United States, Europe, and Brazil.

Dark amber/ ruby pour, with a medium off white head. Incredibly earthy aroma. Loads of sweet, brown sugar malts, with alot of spices, and earthy ginger. The finish is light to medium bitter with an intense ginger earthiness, and strong spicy finish. It’s not a spice bomb, but it’s close. Too earthy I find though.....

Biscuity malts, floral hoppy notes. A little thin, and underwhelming to be frank. Its not terrible, just boring and. VEry straight forward.

Bottle from chez gibb in rouyn noranda.
Hazy orange pour, no head. Aroma of sour wheat, grass, saline, olive brine and some lemon zest. Body is bubbly, and a little sparkling. Soft but lively carb. Finish is svoury, a tad salty, but crisp and clean. Sourness hit in the end and fades quickly and leaves a slightly tangy lemon, corriander flavor that is short and sweet, with little to no bitterness. Its my first foray into this style, so im not exactly sure what to expect, but this beer was pleasant.

Cask days 2011.
Typical pour, big bourbon woody aroma. Loads of burnt malt, soy, and coffee, with that typical trois mousquetaire sweetness to the malt profile. Light fruit, and quite a bit more roasted malts. The finish is quite sweet, and woody with a little vanilla. The more is warms the boozier it gets and whoa does the bourbon really come through and overpower. Nice stuff but a little rough around the edges.

First thing is a big aroma of citrus, specifically lemon. Lots of corriander abd a fresh bouquet of cereals. Flavor is dominated by bitter citrus, cirriander and wheat. To me the wheat is quite prevalent, and the cereals and malt bill are very specific to the brewer. The finish is a pithy bitterness, and quite dry. A very interestinf beer.

Very dark brown pour with a huge beige head. Smoky aroma lots of mollasses, and dark burnt malts. The smoke isn’t as prevalent as I expected. This much heavier then most rauch lagers. This is more of a smoky porter.

Loads of sweet malts, sweet burnt malts, fruit, and an odd olive oil aroma. Very sweet flavor more of this semi tart roasted malt. Very good mouthfeel, a touch oily. Great roasty finish, lots of espresso, and burnt malts. A nice porter, but not great.

Dark ruby pour with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet malts, sherry, alcohol and an odd musty almond. The typical banana esters are nowhere to be found this seems more like a Belgian strong ale with hints of a weizenbock. Weird beer, it’s not bad it enjoyable, but to me it seems way off the style lines.

On tap at Le Saint Bock.
Some nice grains, and clean pils hops in the aroma. A nice clean crisp mouthfeel, some good maltiness, and a good balance between the hops, but there is an odd sweet, VERY sweet aftertaste....what is that about?
