Light golden coloured body with a thin white head. Mild aroma with some soapy scents and a bit of malt. Light-bodied; Strong assertive malt with a bit of hops. Aftertaste shows some cardboard, a bit of sweetness and nothing else. Overall, not horrible but obviously not the best! I sampled this six ounce sample from pseudo-draught at the Old Dominion 2005 Beer Festival on 24-June-2005 in Ashburn, Virginia.

22 oz bottle. Pours a medium dark orange color with a small white head. Aroma is holiday spices, caramel. Flavor is again, holiday spices, though as others have said, it has characteristics of a pumpkin beer. Not a bad entry in a category that usually sees very mediocre beers.

22 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown - almost black color with a dark tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is dark fruits, coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Flavor is similar, with a deep, strong malty body to it. Fruits and Chocolate come up second. A wonderful beer from this brewery.

Gift from Kenny and Savannah. Same color as urine when you have not been drinking enough water. 3 bubbles total. Aroma of orange. Pepper taste with coriander and yeast.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a brown head and a fully opaque body. Aroma of strong rotten egg, milk, sour cherries, cream and a bit of spices - but the egg is the most pungent, and the worst to smell. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong pungent eggy flavour with cream and sour flavours following soon behind. Not a great taste and the off-flavours are more common than the mild malt and chocolate that are vaguely noticeable. Aftertaste has more of those funky flavours, but the alcohol comes out, along with the lactic feeling and taste as well. Overall, pretty much a miss in my book - but I’d be interested in trying one of their bigger beers again to see if they can get it right? I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Kybecca in Fredericksburg, Virginia on 31-May-2008, sampled on 26-November-2008.

Nice deep amber coloured body with ruby highlights and tints of orange. Aroma of malt, a bit of hops and a good amount of mild spices. Medium-bodied; Large malt backbone with a good yeastie and fresh hop flavour going strong. Aftertaste shows some caramel, a bit of coriander seed and a fair amount of floral hops. Overall, a good beer - not amazing, but definitely nice for the style and to try in general. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon, Virginia on 18-September-2008, sampled on 26-November-2008.

22 ounce bottle from Corks & Kegs in Richmond, VA. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a half-finger head. Low retention and poor lacing. Vegetal hops in the aroma with some strangely sweet and salty flavors. Taste is bitter hops and butterscotch. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Diacetyl bomb.

22 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Richmond, VA. This past beer’s I’ve tried have been fantastically horrible, so I guess here is a chance for redemption. Pours a dark molasses colored brown with faint wisps of head. The aroma is nutty roasted malts with some molasses and metallic notes. Taste is roasted malts, brown sugar and coffee grounds. Watery texture.
