Can pour from the brewery in Fiskdale. It's a cloudy dark yellow-light brown with no sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is moderately strong florals and fruit. Taste mirrors aroma with late bread. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste with mild lingering bitterness. Overall, more conventional IPA than NEIPA. Must have used a ton of Columbus...

Can from tfontana, thanks for the trade. Hazy lemon yellow with a decent sized frothy white head that slowly recedes. Orange and grapefruit with some earth and grass offset with bready caramel maltiness. Not bad.

12 oz can. in a trade with tfontana. Aroma has soft mango and orange. Flavor follows with maybe a little bit of grass or herb in the finish. Juicy with very mild bitterness. It’s respectable overall.

Draught at the brewery, 1/30/16.
Copper-amber body shows good clarity and a medium-sized off-white head that steadily fades to cover.
Dank, earthy, fruity aromas are quite prominent and aromatic, with very light, dry caramel notes and a touch of a spicy element. Pretty interesting try a horizon single-hopped ipa, which I don’t think I’ve ever had. It’s certainly not an in-your-face type of hop and seems quite reserved, though certainly not unenjoyable. Red fruits, light citrus (orange rind, sweet lemon) and a pinch of sprucey pine on the end with no alcohol noted nor flaw.
Nicely attenuated flavor still retains a good amount of maltiness to balance the earthy, pine and citrus character. Despite not loving tons of pine and citrus, this one seems to have about a best-case-scenario for those notes, as you can get. Just a touch of bitterness and dryness to balance the sweetness, with mild fruitiness, spicy herbal qualities and dank, earthy aromatics on the end. Low, but not loose carbonation and no alcohol or flaws in the flavor. Very impressed! You’re not going to confuse this with the current trend of New England IPAs, but then, it’s nice to see some individuality and not every IPA needs to be a Julius.

Draught at the brewery, 1/30/16.
Good clarity in the dark mahogany body, with a hint of deep chestnut. Beige head shows moderate retention.
Light coffee, hazelnut and touches of dry toffee in the nose give a very good impression of the real thing. No flaws, no alcohol and again, with their other beers, the attenuation is pretty good (some could certainly be a bit more dry, but none of them were what I’d call too sweet).
Sweet milk chocolate, mild coffee and toffee in the flavor with a touch of herbal hop character and a light bitterness for balance. Goes down easy and the sweetness isn’t excessive nor was there any flaw whatsoever in any of the beers my friend and I tried. Carbonation is medium and ample.
