Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.
The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.
Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

Black with lacy head. Aroma has some rubber and dusty dank malts. Flavour is decent with a lightly bitter, almost smokey roasted note. A bit thinnish.

Lots of light citrus make it very smashable.
To be honest, that’s not bad for a non alcoholic beer!

Can 33 cl. ours a clear amber with an off-white head. Sweet wort aroma, a little metallic. Light body, thin and watery and quite fizzy. Faint sweetess and next to no bitternes. Inoffensive though. 070922

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Somewhat citrusy nose, bit also a greasy, unclean note. Light body, odd wort feel - not really all that sweet though, or also it's all smothered in the fairly prominent hoppiness. Somewhat drinkable, if you really have to. 060922

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Some citrusy aroma notes - a little greasy perhaps - blending on with sweet wort. Light body, a fruity driness - wort notes have completely vanished. Bitter finish. This is actually decent for the style. 010922

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orangey/reddish hue and a small, rough, off-white head. Nose is.....close to nasty. Mostly like old, stale sewage. Light body, slight roast, sweet wort and some of the same characteristics as in the aroma. No bitterness. This is deeply unleasant. 310822
