Bottle from Bottle Baron. Black body with a thin tan head. Very faint lacing. Aroma of liquorice and espresso. Flavour of salted chocolate, soy sauce and rust. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. It’s as a Sweet Stout by style but it smells and tastes very savoury. I love that ‘The North Sea’ is listed on the ingredients list.

Tap at six degrees north. Nose is citrus, honey bread, the hops come through a bit weird. Palate is bready orange, citrus, bitter finish. Meh.

Keg at The Royal & Navy Volunteer, Bristol. Pour is hazy golden amber. Muted aroma of clean malts, not much else going on. More clean malts on the taste, light flavours of lemon & citrus. Medium bodied, moderate carb., medium biscuit finish.

On tap at Red Squirrel Edinburgh. Hazy pale brown old gold colour. Lasting white head. Some amber malt dry. Cereal. Some sweetness. Ok malt character.
