Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with no head. Aroma is indeed kumquat, honest, nice fruits. Taste is a bit stomach acid, some bitterness, barn. Oily mouthfeel, flat. Solid!

Bottle. Not clear golden color with white head. Aroma is most-like, green apples, not so much khakhi, green stuff. Leathery, dry, some parmiggiano. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Alright.

Pours unclear amber. Small, nearly no head. Scent is very funky, herbal, mildly tart. Yoghurty almost. Taste is intensely tart, dry, earthy, herbal, funky, oak, bit dusty almost. very drying. Recognizable wasabi, yes. A very weird, unique beer. Sounds like a beer 77ships would score 5/5. Bit of a malty finish. Medium carbo

17/VI/20 - 37.5cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ ElManana’s place, BB: IX/2023 (2020-525)

Little cloudy orange beer, small irregular aery yellowish head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: oh wow, that’s dirty, a mix of strawberry flavoured bubble gum and puke, very repulsive smell to me, rotting cheese in there as well, oh my, this is bad! MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: super acidic, rotting strawberries, very dirty, weird, funky, lemon juice, rotting fruits. Aftertaste: bitter, and rather unpleasant for that matter, more rotting fruits, some tannins, pretty weird.

Bottle shared. Almost clear golden with white head. Crisp bright mineral funk with soft sulphur. Lime rind, soft lemon, oak, apricot skin. I have no idea how Japanese apple tastes, but this doesn't have much if anything I recognize as apple. Light flowery and more dry mineral funk. Almost medium sour, light sweet and bitter. Crisp medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. I don't get much fruit, but it's a tasty lambic.

Bottle at home, thanks to Maakun! Near clear golden with small white head. Sour grains, massive lime, soft basil, citroenmelisse, general herbal touch, hint of apple & cinnamon, mint. Mild sour, very (lemony) fruity. Medium body and soft carbonation.

First ever lambic gusher. Pours dark hazy orange. Foam has 0 lifespan. Smell is herbal, twigs, mild orange like fruityness. Taste is likewise. Very acidic, médium acetic. Intense on the herbal, twig side with mild orange like fruityness. Médium carbonation. OK. But not what I expect of a beer priced 2-3 times as much as the best examples within the style.
