Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear, orange-gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds lots of honey, rich bread and mellow orange. Medium to big sweet flavor with drying citrus, alcohol and white bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with cotton candy, dried apples, alcohol and dry, pale bread. So so.

Pigs Ear. Wooden Cask. Think this was a collaboration with the Barnet Brewery. Murky dark brown beer with a few tan bubbles for a head. Light semi dry palate. Tangy dark fruits, wood, mellow malt. Touches of well buried sweet esters. Light finish. A tasty number.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear, 03/12/13. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose fruit cake, candied orange peel, cloak of booze, touch of marzipan, punchy hops in the background. Taste comprises sweet grapefruit jus, caramel fudge, candied orange peel, light booze. Full bodied, soft carbonation, booze coated finale with a dose of hoppage. Decent enought hopped up Barley Wine, the alcohol is well integrated. Not too much in the way of depth but easy drinking.
