Description
Established in 2012 by renting of the former Pitfield plant at Moreton, Ongar, which was taken over in 2015. In mid-2018, the brewery closed it's plant and started cuckoo brewing at Red Fox Brewery, Coggeshall. In 2019 the brand became part of the Craft Beer Distributor Heathwick Limited which outsources production.

Beers listed with no brewery name are from the present day Dominion brand, the former Pitfield beers carry this name in front of them in the listing.

Bottle shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Kenneth, 12/06/24. Slightly unclear chestnut brown with a beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is earthy dried fruit rinds, musty brown bread, toffee, stewed fruits. Taste comprises fruit rinds, modest oxidisation, brown bread, toffee, herb, biscuits, dates. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Has held up well for the age.

Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers to Kenny. Pours clear brown with a thin, off white cream head. Medium sweet flavour, rich, some toasted caramel, drying wood, booze, toffee, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, some oxidation, booze, toasted malts, wood, earth. Not bad.

Bottle at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A dull nut brown coloured pour with a halo of beige head. Aroma is earthy, autumnal, brown leaves, grass, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dusty, figgy, pud, dried fruits, brown sugars, dusty age. Held up well. Palate is semi sweet, sticky, oily, mellow carbonation. Ok.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, hay herbs and mild yeasty and earthy notes. Flavour is dusty, earthy, herbs, hay and some yeasty notes. On the verge to being harsh.
