Waxed bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy tan head that fizzed away. Aroma of dark fruit, heat, brown sugar and some rye notes. Full bodied. Not dry, but not sticky. Flavor is rye whiskey, heat, brown sugar, dark fruit, roasty but not burnt malt. Well, maybe a little burnt. It's bitter - possibly from heat and malt. Very, very good flavor.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours amber tinged gold with a large foamy near-white head that rapidly collapsed with a little lacing. Aroma actually has detectable roasty malt, but a huge, non-irritating, hop aroma dominates. Arguably full bodied. Very malty, but towards dry. Flavors are disparate. Orange, dank, pale stone, yellow melon, and something that suggests wood! I missed the heat until I thought about it. Bitter, but not harshly so. They must have cleaned out the hop storeroom. It may or may not be the best DIPA in the world, but it certainly stands out in the pack. Wooooof!

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is tropical with pale stone fruit. Med body or nearly. Flavor is white grape, lightly roasty malt/caramel and pale stone fruit. Towards dry. At least moderately bitter. Good flavor. Hop tingles.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours like Guinness - dark brn/blk with a large finely bubbled head. Tan. Aroma of cherry, chocolate and toasted/burnt malt. Full bodied. Flavor is - well - different. It actually has a pie crust component - like the dry baked edge, not the top part. Lots of cherry. Lots of chocolate - chocolate in cherry pie? Comes on like a milk stout off and on. Salt is in the mix. Not dry - but barely avoiding sticky. Bitter from? Burnt malt? Quite interesting and tasty.

19.2 Oz can, drank on Christmas Day 2021 while at my daughters in California. Light mistiness in the pale golden body, short lived white head. Straw and grainy nose, taste also slightly grainy. As the beer warmed in the glass it became a little metallic in nature and not so refreshing or pleasant as it was initially.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear gold with a smallish white head. Aroma is lightly bready with grass/spice and maybe a bit of citrus. Med body at least. Flavor is crisp/clean with grass/spice and lightly bready malt. Towards dry and nicely bitter. Might be some citrus in the finish. Nice drink.

16 ounce can. Hazy yellow gold pour. Frothy white head. Sharp citrus. Soft and juicy. Easy drinking for a double IPA. I need to make an appointment.

Can (5/4/21) pour from Valley Beverage, Sherman Oaks. It's a cloudy (fine particulate mist) dark yellow-light brown with nice sparkle, finger-width off white foamy head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong sweet-tart citrus (like the pink Smarties candy). Taste is strong florals, citrus, dank pine and caramel/Tootsie Roll backbone. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste with lingering moderate dry bitterness. Overall, can says New England style but I like the category that it's in. More flavor and less bitterness than full-on West Coast IPA's and weird to taste TWO candies in one beer. Good strength and nice complexity to the taste, especially for age. Over carbonated.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours quite hazy gold with a decent white head that left rapidly. Aroma of pale stone fruit, melon and citrus. Med body plus a bit. It's juicy; a tad earthy; some peach or peach pit; orange melon; citrus which seems a little lemon. Gets towards dry with time. Decently bitter. Good flavor.
