Description
Hill Farmstead Brewery is the culmination of many years of travel and insight—of experience and education—of friendships and explorations. The brewery is the revival and continuation of 220 years of Hill heritage and hand crafted history in North Greensboro, Vermont. Its logo is retrieved from a sign that once hung in Aaron Hill's (our great(x3) grandfather) tavern, just up the hill, in the early 1800s.

Draught at Khyber Pass: pours oily black with small beige head. Aroma is loads if vanilla and barrels, rich chocolate, wood, hints of booze, butterscotch. Rich, sweet, nuanced. Barrels are at the ideal level. A very strong blend.

Draught at Khyber: pours black with beige head. Aroma is slightly earthy and herbal with ample coffee notes. Definitely hoppy coming through. Light licorice notes. Taste is lightly bitter. Fairly dry. Like a high quality pour over coffee almost with hops added. Delicate and thought out.

Bottle: pours clear garnet with small white head. Aroma is plum and blueberry of course, little bit of mineral and a touch of light funkiness. Taste is lightly tart, clean dry fruitiness, but has a little but of sweetness at the finish that gives the beer a little more heft over its diminutive size.

LCI. Should have gotten more of these. Citrus and stone fruit up front, vinous, melds into a white grape, mineral with a touch of salinity.
