Description
Hill Farmstead Brewery is the culmination of many years of travel and insight—of experience and education—of friendships and explorations. The brewery is the revival and continuation of 220 years of Hill heritage and hand crafted history in North Greensboro, Vermont. Its logo is retrieved from a sign that once hung in Aaron Hill's (our great(x3) grandfather) tavern, just up the hill, in the early 1800s.

Bottle thanks to Paul, shared with others! Pours dark grown with a brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of smoke, roasted malts and a slight dry wine note, nicely balanced. Flavor begins with roasted malt and becomes slightly smokey with a bit of a dry roasted finish.

Bottle thanks to Paul, shared with others! Pours a dark brown with a brown head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of smoked meat (ham) with a bourbon note and backing roasted dark grains. Flavor begins with roasted and smokey malts but has a growing bourbon note to help balance out the smokiness.

50cl bottle pours a watery, opaque brown with one ring of tan head. HUGE smokey aroma, bacon, charcoal, wood chips, smelled a little sweeter than the Cab barrel. Flavor is sweet, sugary, a touch smokier than the Cab barrel, bacon, toasted grains, more brown sugar. Full bodied, smokey finish with a touch of booze in the back of the throat. A little more balance, diversity of flavor. Marginally better than the Cab barrel.
