Can at LKS - thanks to Dan. It pours clear golden - orange with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, toasty grain, cereal, bread, biscuit, tangerine, orange marmalade and kumquat. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, peppery pice, pithy, zesty orange citrus, toasty grain, cereal, hay and a touch of spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Can shared in Hackney - thanks to Dan. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds crispy pale malts, straw, lemony hops. Light sweet flavour with some bitter grass, more straw, pale grains, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Pretty clean finish, a little minerality, more crunchy pale grains, bitter hay. Not bad.

Bottle. Real Ale Shop, Branthill, Norfolk. Hazy, pale amber. (There must only be these and Poppyland that put cloudy beers out in Norfolk?). Nose has toffee malts. Cooked pineapple. Some apricot. Taste has a little jammy sweetness, turning rindy, oily citrus bitter. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Punchy bitterness to finish. Not quite the same league as their 4.2 pale, but certainly very drinkable.

Can. Real Ale Shop, Branthill, Norfolk. Hazy, pale, amber gold. Film and a ring of dense, white foam. Nose has clean, dry, biscuity malts. Notes of zested citrus, notably ripe orange and lemon. Hint of pine needle. Some estery fruit, too. Reminded the missus of a saison. Taste is light, zesty citrus bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Crisp, fine fizz. Pop of bitterness to finish. I do like this Norfolk malt. For some reason I wasn’t expecting much here, but that’s me wrong. Great stuff.
