First launched onto the market in 2017, Susanna and James Forbes' story started a few years earlier, when they found their dream orchard in Thornbury, North Herefordshire: 120 trees with four classic cider apple varieties. Inspired by the tastes and vision of notable producers, their quest was to work with the best possible fruit using natural methods to fashion ciders and perries with true flavours. Ciders with the character and structure to match with food. Ciders to enjoy, to share and to celebrate with.
Little Pomona was the first to create dry, keg-conditioned cider on a commercial basis, and its Root & Branch instantly won fans. The future will see more dry kegged ciders alongside a fascinating barrel fermentation and maturation programme.
Aided and abetted since the 2019 harvest by talented Canadian, Blair Côté, the team continues to adopt a progressive and experimental approach to the fermentation of fruit.
Thrilled to be named the 2019 Cider Producer of the Year by the Hereford Times, always the vision has been to share this journey, and today Little Pomona embarks on a fresh chapter as its opens its new Cider House, complete with Tasting Room.

750ml bottle from Little Pomona. Hazy yellow gold colour, no head and aroma of apple, melon, citric. Taste is fleshy apple, pineapple, melon, citrus, honey hints, with zingy acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying acidic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Large bottle picked up from Hereford Beer house, had at Isobel and Jude's, Wednesday 11th June 2025. Pours dark gold, slight haze, slim rim of white bubbles. Soft slightly warm apples on the nose, streaky apple and tart, tangy bite, dry finish there is a funky edge. V.good..

Clear 750ml via Press Online. Couple months of settling in the fridge & it's still just a bit murky. Mojito glass at home.
Strong pop of the cap & hard sizzle. Somewhat hazy, mellow honey gold.
Gently sweet, citrus peel, veggy, nutty, floral honey nose.
Tart & sweet with a stiff pith. Bright red apple, a little yuzu, soft earth. Not overly complex. Strong & constant Pet Nat carb, sulftite headache, low abv, good quaff.
Decent.

750ml (thx, Matt!) @ Ryan's.
Aroma: tannic, woody, a bit sweet red apples, funky.
Taste: sparkly, very dry, a lot of funk.
Overall: nice one, but I still would want my light sweetness, haha.

Cloudy beige sort of colour. Almost smokey aroma with lots of tannins. Wild, farmy aroma. Yeah, this was absolutely fermented in a barn. Horsey, barny, wild, lots of tannins. Very dry. Good complex apple notes. This has to be the funkiest English cider I've had. Crazy stuff.

750mL bottle, pours orange with a large but very quickly-dissipating head. Aroma is full of funky barnyard notes, light champagne-like effervescence, and a tiny touch of sugars. Flavour is bone dry, with nary a trace of sugars; there’s plenty of barnyard funk and some champagne-like effervescence. Nice funk, great dryness, and plenty of complex farmhouse character. Excellent.
