Very thick-creamy yellowish head over dark amber beer. Cakey nose, thick malts, ambrée, caramel; quite rich and powerful nose; hints at orange(zeste) but generally quite sweet. Seems a bit of ureum too, but blending in the general complexity. Caramel flavour, not overly sweet, with some undistinguished hops, but mainly determined by very rich and selected malts of various colouring, making it way more complex than expected of a less than 5 ABV beer. Some burning in the MF, pretty thick texture without becoming porridge-y or overly sweet by too many restsugars. After some drinking, the Vienna characteristics establish themselves more clearly, but it remains a beer with some Barley wine aspirations; which does not prevent it from being very well made indeed.

Bottle. Weak grassy hop aroma. Perhaps a little plastic? Clear copper colour. Full-flavoured, sweet and hoppy.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour. Very small head. The flavour has a little aroma hoppiness, but is a bit thin and boring.

Keg British... Keg head; orange coloured beer. Specific nose of hops, I’d even wager USA hops, even if they’re not, and "wet dog" aroma. Grapefruit and other bitterness(es). The liveliness of a cask has been replaced by little fizzyness, but nothing exaggerated. Actually, this is better than some of the poorer cask IPA’s. Light to medium bodied. It’s especially the finish & aftertaste that betray the kegging: not much going on anymore, if anything. Quite OK for a British IPA. Couldn’t vie for one moment with the better USA ones, though.

Good, but seconds lingering, yellow-brown head; dark red-brown beer. Pure freshly milled coffee - with chervil for...? this is pure cappucino without the cream: freshly ground coffee, bitter cacao, and carbonation giving a balancing acidity. Very slick, smooth beer, creamy texture. I’m not a coffee drinker, but this gets extra points for originality. Thanks to Mark Dorber.

Bottle. Cloudy medium black color with a large good lacing light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffe, smoke. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. After taster is coffe / chocolate bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

bb 01 11 08. Pours mahogany into a stem glass. Fluffy mocha head leaves extreme lacing as it slowly recedes. Pit fruit and chocolate aromas. Soft but complex. Smoked plums with sweet chocolate middle that darkens to a barely bitter hop finish. While not the most robust porter...eminently drinkable.

Thanks to Badgerben for sharing this impressive porter. I have gotten bored with the style but this beer reminds me what a porter can be. Aroma has smoke, chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Flavor has some wine, with roasted and lightly sweet malt. Thick and heavy on the palate.

Bottle. Beautiful ruby-mahogony beer with a nice off-white head. LIght smoked aroma with some sweet malt. Nice peated malt flavor with a bit more smokiness and some sweet malt and earthy hops. Lingering peat and sweet toffee malt. Medium bodied

Pours bright amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white micro head subsides in chunks. Fruity apple and pear aromas. Sharp and well-balanced with a lasting bitter hop finish.
