First up today is a beer I think suffered from it’slabel with a surfboard evoking a golden brew and summer but the contents being a brown ale. WCB Swell Boi Brown Ale 6% On cracking this can I got a big west coast citrusy pine bouquet. It’s topped with thick dense long-lasting beige foam on a reddish brown body. Fairly full bodied this beer is a great hoppy brown with roasty toffee/caramel notes, sweet malts and delicious piney citrusy hops. Not really complex but really on point. Slap a name and label evoking fall or winter on this and I’m guessing it’d fly off the shelves.

Tap in Umeda. Pale gold, light hop haze. Big NZ hop nose, Nelson, Motueka, crisp malty crackers, some cat piss. Crisp, hoppy flavor. Well done.

Batch #4 at their Umeda location. Very hazy pale gold, pastel. Big tropical nose of coconut, pineapple, orange, with some dankness. Nicely balanced fruit juice flavors, not over the top sweet or slick, creamy tropical fruits. Enjoyed this.

Canned, 500 ml. Shared with MiroB, Luka, Hrvoje and kajser27. Hazy orange with medium white head. Nice hoppy aroma and flavor. Fruity, citrus, juicy, smooth. Vague bitterness in finish. Low sweetness. Medium bodied.

Tall can from Citysuper at home with S. Hazy straw yellow pour with fine sudsy white head. Aroma is vinous white grape, citrus rind, green mango, and some melon. Taste is more tropical but still dominated by vinous pithiness. Mango flavor gets less green and more ripe on the taste. Very nice combo. Sweet and boozy too. Palate is smooth with mild carbonation. Finish is warm and mildly pithy. Very good.
