Description
Although he had been involved in developing the company since the 2000s, Marc-Antoine officially takes the reigns in 2015. In order to ensure the family company’s future development, a new brand identity is born. Les Vergers de la Colline becomes Cidery Milton, Quebec’s bold and inspiring leader in cider. This change allows the company to focus more strongly on what it has become and to emphasize the exceptional quality of its products.

Imported by Shelton. So... kinda old. 500ml from Finger Lakes Bevmo. Plastic wine cup back at the hotel. Clear, pale honey gold, tiny amount of floaties. Citra hops are so good in cider. It amplifies the fruitiness already there. Like a white grape, tangerine, pineapple, apple thing with just a hint of dank. 11/10 Taste is less intense. An infused punch of bitter apples, menthol, grapefruit pith, white grape, lemon, with a little papaya at the tail. Dry, thin, good if irritating carbonation. Good feels abv. Very solid. Borderline excellent.

(750ml 2019 bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours lightly hazed yellow-gold with an active white head that dissipates without lace. Notes of a mix of lightly sweet to lightly tart apples, slightly tannic, very little residual sugar however, dusty yeast profile with some slightly farmy/hay-like Brett elements, overall rather light in flavour and the mega-mix of apples prevents one from getting much varietal character. Light to medium bodied, a bit watery, filling but balanced effervescence. Decent but for the price I found it a bit less than exciting.

On tap at Pub Pit-Caribou Mtl, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of jammy raspberries and intense apple core. Flavour is like drinking tart raspberry pie, followed by puckering apple core, and medium-high acidity. Jammy and fruity, with loads of sourness that is backed by just enough sweetness. Good stuff.

On tap at EtOH, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of champagne-like effervescence, with crisp apple skins. Flavour is gently sweet, with lots of champagne-like effervescence and medium sweet apples. The sweetness is higher than it seems but the high carbonation cuts down on the residual sweetness feeling. Tasty by unremarkable.

On tap at Saint-Houblon - Little Houblon, pours a clear faded ros pink colour with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral notes a la ros wine, crisp apple skins, and a hint of champagne-like effervescence. Flavour reveals moderate apple acidity, champagne-like effervescence, and some crisp apple skins. There's a fair amount of depth. That champagne-like effervescence really elevates this. Very good.
