Description
In Autumn 1985, I was introduced by John Stewart, a neighbour and early eco-warrior, to the art of cider making using locally harvested cider apples creating my very first batch of cider. Opening the barrel for the first taste in early Spring was an eagerly anticipated magical experience. The cider apple was transformed into a delicious and moreish drink.

Year after year I continued this tradition, perfecting the process until 15 years ago I plucked up the courage to take my cider to Stratford Farmers market. The feeling of pride when people handed over their hard earned cash for a cider I had made was amazing. Made all the better when those same people returned time and again for more!

Things have moved on from those early days. The industry has evolved, we've perfected our authentic, fresh pressed ciders and we're excited about introducing some delicious new varieties and styles to our range — still made properly of course. We're really exploiting the versatility of the cider apple to make what we think (and we hope you do too) are some surprising, rewarding and sometimes challenging new ciders. Watch this space!

So we hope you good folk will join us on our journey of exploration as we continue to make our classic blends along with our exciting new ciders. One thing we've definitely learnt over the years is that we love crafting and enjoying cider with you and for you. Long may it continue...

As heat records for the start of May are broken it seems fitting to switch to an evening of ciders tonight, so this is the first, classed as a sour cider, but it's more of a heavy bitterness to its quite stated apple. The strength of the drink and tanginess of the fruit give it plenty of depth.

Golden pour with a tiny white head. Aromas of ripe apples, hints of vanilla and citrus. Taste is mainly tarte apples, bit of orange and again some vanilla. Not the sweet appletizer as feared, quite enjoyable, but contains sugar and preservatives, unfortunately.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Clear, deep golden body with practically no head. Wonderful rich aroma of quality apples, apple cores and wood with hint of cellar. Flavor has a nice combination of slightly sour, tart apples and sweet, ripe apples, balanced oak and some really nice cellar notes. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. This cider got everything I want for a easy accessable cider. It has a very high degree of easy drinkability, it’s super refreshing and also enough complexity to be something to swirl around in the glass at one of those quite evenings I just want something nice to relax with that also give me room to try to figure out the flavors. Sweet, tart and woody cellar notes is basically what it’s all about in a very balanced way and it''s even pretty low in alcohol.

Bottle 2014 vintage. Practically clear golden body with a thin film of white head that disappears immediately. Fine, soft aroma of both pear and apples, slightly hint of wood. Flavor is sweet and slightly tart apple cider with mild pear juice, some notes from cellar but not really any wood in the flavor. Fine body and good aftertaste. Very smooth and nice, fine balance between sweetness and acidity, may go well to rustic food. Perry is not my favorite cider style, but this one might be one of the best I have tasted.
