BIAB at William Stead JDW Darlington. Reddish colour, no head and aroma of concentrated strawberry & raspberry. Taste is sweet berry cordial, fruity and juicy. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet & berry flavoured yogurty finish. Nicely drinkable.

Box @ Ship & Pilot, Ilfracombe. Clear pale golden cider. The gin & tonic influence is there, both stated in its nose and taste, and this is a very sweet cider for it, which is clean tasting through an extremely smooth texture.

Box @ Ship & Pilot, Ilfracombe. Hazy pale peach coloured. Has both a sweet rhubarb aroma and taste, with a slightly thin texture, but a very palatable one.

Box @ Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Pours clear copper, no head. Aroma of caramel and rich apple. Taste is clean with some toffee apple and very light tannins on the back teeth. Pleasant fruity number.

Box @ The Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Pours clear, extremely pale yellow. Floral nose. Taste is a gripping floral character with tight tannins, very little cider apple presence. G&T, I guess, is there if you want, but it’s essentially a light floral cider.

Draught at Cider Tap, Euston. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of mellow pear. Taste is pear, medium sweetish, fruity with some biscuit notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, mellow dry sweetish finish. Quite OK.

Bag in a Box @ Stable, Birmingham. Pours pink with slight haze. Pleasant berry aroma. Tastes like apple and raspberry fruit cordial. Breezy, fruity and generally quite nice.

Cask hand-pull at the Alma - Islington. Pours clear, light yellow, faintly hazy. The nose has some ripe berries, a little rot, white grape, vague bruised apple. Medium sweet, sugary, somewhat musty, medicinal, some grape juice, background Apple juice. Medium bodied, oily. Heavily sugary on the finish, a bit saccharin, with more berries, grapes, ripe apple, sugar syrup. Comes across as a little artificial. Minimal apple expression.
