Description

Bottled. Hazy ambery brown colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, spices, mild yeast as well as sweet malts. Flavour is quite the same, big caramel with mild alcohol and spices. Toffeeish finish.

Good, slighlty irregular, collapsing dense head, yellowish over well-carbonated, deep-golden beer. Very alcoholic smell, some molasses too; vanilla and straw. Faint coriander. Bitter(ish)sweet, malty taste, once more dominated by the ethanol. Coriander remains below identification treshold flavourwise. Finish & aftertaste mainly sweet-alcoholic, even syrupy. Medium bodied at least, very slick; alcoholburn. Too thick, underattenuated for a tripel. Not so very special, too alcoholic.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow brown with a huge lacy white head. Aroma is clean and crisp, filled with citrus. Taste is a mix between citrus orange and sweet malts. Just balanced enough not to get overwhelmed by the other.

Bottled(330ml). -Reddish brown coloured, small off-white head, dusty malty nose. Sweet malty, caramel and light alcoholic taste with notes of spices and caramel. Rather sweet finish with notes of nuts in the aftertaste.

Bottle, 6.5%. Sour malt aroma. Muddy brown colour, small creamy head. OK malt flavour, better than the aroma, but not overwhelming. Sewer aftertaste.

Bottle, 8%. Malty aroma with a hint of teaish hops. Cloudy brown colour, unusually dark for a tripel. Small white head. The flavour is nicely bitter with a hint of sour rag, but not as bad as that sounds. There is also an acidic aroma-hoppy flavour reminding me more of a pale ale than a tripel.

Golden ale with an orange malt aroma. Weak and boring ale with too much sweet malt, light hops. Bofff! May 1,2005 at 2nd KBC Festival, Den Bosch, NL.

Dark ruby, firm tanned head. Lemony hoppy, fruity nose, some sugar also. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, caramelly, light hops there. Munchener malt, Brewers Gold and Saaz used here, but I didn’t find Saaz here.
