Description
Founders Ron and Judith Gillies first met playing poker on a river boat in the steaming mosquito infested mangroves of the Panamanian jungle. Their eyes met and they knew then that they were going to end up making fruit wines somewhere in the middle of Scotland for a living. The rest is geography.

They started the winery with a bottle, a book and a stick in 1987. Then before they knew it they had a big winery and everything. By 2010 they had opened their first café and bought a new wheelbarrow.

7fiddy bottle from the source. It pours clear deep yellow gold with a fizzy dissipating white head. The aroma is some earthy, dried leaves, apple skin, leather, wood, spice and only a touch of sweetness. The taste is crisp, dry, puckering, zingy, sherbert, bright apple vibes, juicy, some tannin, hay, leather, wood, must and white grape skin with a dryish finish. Medium body and big, fizzy carbonation. Bright, dry and fruity. Works rather well. Moreish.

26/8/2019. Sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear very pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of moderately sweet apples, citrus, light sulphur and tannins. Light sweetness and moderate sour with a light salty edge. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice semi-dry and light tart finish but with a little lingering sweetness. Quite nice.

On tap @ SRAF. Pale yellow. Slight sulphur but mainly apple and skins. Some wood. Dry tart apple fruit on the taste with a dry apple skins finish. Good.
