Description
The Fear family has been making Cider for as long as anyone can remember, but it was in 1880 that the first commercial batch was sold by Mr Metford Fear to a public house in Weston Super Mare.

Then for many years the same cider was made for friends, family and colleagues by Mr John Fear on his farms in the South West. John continues to help his son Andrew to make the cider today, having passed down the art of real cider making.

In 2005, Andrew, having settled in Nottinghamshire and realising the commercial potential of the cider began to produce it, as “Thirsty Farmer Cider”, to sell in his own Shop and at Country Fetes and Shows.

Bottle from Morrisons. It pours clear golden with russet tones and small bubbly white bread. The aroma is musty, earthy, wood, apple skin, some apple crumble with custard, dried apple, touch of sweet playground and fragrant aspects. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, bitter - sweet, crunchy bright apple, quite juicy, appletiser, touch of tannic apple skin, light leather, minimal alcohol presence and faint barnyard. Medium body and soft to fine carbonation. Pretty drinkable stuff.

Bottle from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Golden-orange, but more of the former in colour. Has a sweeter nose than taste, which is just as bitter as it is sweet but maintaining a decent tart and dessert apple flavour.
