Car. Pours black. Treacle nose. Roasted malts for sure, but a lot more underneath. Caramel, pine resin, something floral. This is a damn good beer.

From a 375ml can on 28/7/2020. Pours near black with a biggish tan head which disappears quickly. The nose is quite sharp and roasty. Taste wise, your get lots of dark and milk chocolate and soy, with a big sharp, roasty, lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is a touch syrupy and the carbonation average. Okay, but not really my kind of impy.

(Can) Pours black with short-lived small deep brown head. Smokey aroma with notes of burnt sugar and burnt toast. Excellent mouthfeel: very full bodied, smooth, almost creamy with lovely bright carbonation. Good rich taste too with great balance. There’s dark toffee and burnt sugar sweetness with a bitter edge. This is nicely balanced with some pleasant berry tartness. Very drinkable.

Pours amber with a large fading head.Nose shows passion fruit, pine hops, soft resinous notes, a bit of lychee, some peach and nectarine, along with a bit of clean malt contributing a marmalade character.Flavours include a lot more sweet clean malt, along with big tropical fruit and piny hop notes. Perhaps a bit too sweet.

Can. Expected red because that's what it says on the can, but no it's dark brown with a brief beige head. Aroma of dark vinegar toffee, sweaty funk, oaked red wine. Sweet with bigger sticky dark malt malty notes than you'd guess could be in a 5% beer, then it's tamed at leisure, first by gentle sourness then oak. Some slight herbal and licorice touches. A really good balance of refreshment and intrigue.

From a 375ml can on 14/5/2020. Pours a super deep red cola colour with pretty much no head. Has a mild sour dark fruit nose. Tastes of under-ripe berries, cherries and plums with a mild, slightly tart sour. Medium bodied with moderate to average carbonation. Not unpleasant, but a bit lacking in countering sweetness and balance. Not for me.

Pours orange/amber with a rapidly dissipating head.Nose shows bucket-loads of tropical fruit, with notes of pineapple, mango, peach, nectarine and grape all prominent.Flavours include more peach, pineapple, mango and pear, along with a big fruit confectionery-like character. Some acidity balances things out and keeps things refreshing.Goes down like fruit-flavoured mineral water.

From a 375ml can on 21/12/2019. Pours a clear light golden with a big fluffy white head. Has a light aroma of cinnamon and spice. The flavour is a rinse and repeat of the nose, finishing with a very gentle bitterness. Light bodied and a bit thin, with average carbonation. It's actually not particularly saison like in character. Not offensive, and perhaps brings with it some Christmas novelty, but provides no inspiration to revisit.

Can from #ratebeersupertasters. Deep amber. Lovely fruit salad going on here. Passionfruit and guava win out. The saltiness keeps it interesting. A delight.
