Peach brown/yellow color, nice creamy thick (whip cream) head. Fruity (grape, apricot) and slightly earthy aroma. Light, strong flavors of mould, potato and pear peels. Real "table beer".

An excellent, complex aroma. Brown sediment on the bottom of the glass. Citrus and other fruit, as well as light floral aromas. Gold, with a large head. The flavor is very sweet; with dried fruit. One of the best aromas I have found in a beer, and a great example of a sweet fruity tripel.

A top notch Belgian strong ale. There is the expected malt and light sweetness as well as the alcohol, but the alcohol level is low enough; as opposed to the common 11.5% beers, that it does not dominate the flavor or aroma. Heavy, with a fairly fruity, and floral-yeast aroma. Great beer.

Big bottle: Huge, lasting, rocky head, hazy, orangey coloured; complex fruity nose (oranges, bananas, peaches(?)), some traces of caramel and alcohol; sweetish fruity start, moderate sweet flavour; the fruity, yeasty, complex taste becomes dryer towards the end; dry slightly bitter aftertaste. Fine, but not sooo impressive, a well made, stronger Weizen colud do the same job.....

Nice red color. A great beer overall but my least favourite (less complex i would say) out of the three chimays that I have tried (blue,red, white).

2004 0,75cl bottle. Nice aroma and color. Fruity taste. Those 9% are well hidden. Left me with a great aftertaste. Best of three chimays that I tried. Propably my favourite beer so far. 4.6 2011:Rerated

Bottle. Very fruity, slightly yeasty aroma. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Semi-stable, white head. Peppery flavour, slightly sweet with a good hoppiness, dry and grassy. The aftertaste does not seem as dry as other Chimays, but quite bitter.

Bottle. Served at the Maple Tree Inn. A happy, hazy beer smell wafts from the Trappist glass after it’s poured. Brown and hazy body with a surface skim of light foam, but no lacing. The smell lightens up once you put your nose in the glass. Taste includes impressions of brown sugar, rum, and a slight prune darkness. Despite the relatively light alcohol for this style, there’s actually a kind of barley win maltiness to it. Works well as a casual summer drunking experience. And Jeezis Peet, I’ve just checked off the Maple Tree’s beer menu: they still have a dozen beers I haven’t rated yet! Hmmm...

Bottle, 7%. Yeasty, malty aroma, slightly spicy with some CO2. Hazy chestnut colour, semi-stable tan head. Quite yeasty flavour with a long malty aftertaste. Not as sweet as some dubbels, but not really dry either. Mouthfeel a little swelling, due to quite high carbonation.
