Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours clear red-brown with a light, frothy tan head. Muddled aroma, some light earth and burnt grains. Light sweet flavour with some woody notes, molasses, earthy bitterness. Light in body with fine carbonation; OK condition. Cask Gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours murky brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, earthy, decent roast, charred wood, lemon sherbet, tangy dark fruits and a touch of apple pie. The taste is bitter-sweet, sticky, umami, toasted wood, Rocky Road, dark fruits, chocolate, oily, chewy malt and light acidity with alcohol warmth through the finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Big and boosty. Punchy, but I like it.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours oily black with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds tangy dark fruits, light chocolate, wood, earth. Hugely sweet, viscous, with more dark fruits, oil, cherry, cocoa. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sticky-sweet, with burnt dark sugars, brown sugar, ripe dark fruits. Full-on stuff. Pretty interesting, and certainly not lacking for depth of character. But balanced, it is not.

Moderately sweet, with more peach, nectarine, mandarin orange, pale malts. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance in the finish, lots more citrusy hops. Very good stuff.
