On tap at the Mad Mex. Smells like root beer and cotton candy. This is not yer typical barley wine aroma. The pour is light brown with a rootbeer head that matches the smell. Very strong alky flavor impact. You ceratinly know this is a barleywine when you taste it. The alky content is not hidden and you know this is above 10%. Very little carbonation, flat. Finish is back of your throat medicinal qualities with a bitterness that hangs on your uvula. Lingers and lasts for a while after you are finished drinken the last sip. Difficult. I am not a barleywine lover or expert but this is probably one of the better tasting ones I’ve had. IMHO much better than Laggy Brown Shugga and Bell’s Wheat Love.

Sampled part of Bomber. Golden amber color, with nice head. Aroma is powerfully hoppy and the citrus aroma is strong. Palate is really thick with hops, when I was drinking it it was almost like I was chewing the hops.

Thanks to Odeed for sharing!!! This is one IVY League beer! I am used to the normal citrus, pine, and floral hop smells but this beer smelled like ivy! Nose of big IVY, with some citrus and pine in the background! Light amber with a small off-white head; Flavor of IVY, light hop bitterness and some pine notes in a medium thick body and the IVY and a little bitterness showing for the finish! Very unusual!

Pour is darkish red brown. On tap at the Bocktown in Robinson shopping complex. Clear with no haze whatsoever. Aroma is surprisingly vinegary but pleasant. Nice head fades to about a coating in a few moments. Flavor and aroma are very unique. Roasty malt earthly but not bitter. Very gentle. Finish is good too. There is some hops flavor in there but it is not bitter, more unique than anything. No linger on the flavor also. Seems to have the right amount of personality. Rates up there with troegs rugged, wild goose and bells. Much better than dogfishhead indian. Overall, just plain good beer. Smells different and tastes different. This is not the same old beer.
