Description
Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.

In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

Bottle picked up from a work colleague Denise, thank you Denise for this beer. Consumed at home Thursday 10th June 2021 listening to John Grant standing in for Gideon Coe and playing an amazing selection of tunes on 6Music. We had Chicken, Feta and Red Pepper Traybake for tea. We are now sat outside it's been a lovely day. Pours mid brown, almost clear but then a touch of haze just gatecrashes the clarity party, a white head sits atop. Woah this is so medicinal on the nose, elastoplast all over this, it's so peaty. A little peatiness in the mouth soon fades to reveal a rich malty, smoky beer, some caramel and a little fruity edge, light bitterness, smooth and super nice and easy drinking, if only the nose wasn't so much of a distraction.
