Description
In 1758 the first master brewer, Peter Still from Fischbach, was able to start work on the Hammersee. In 1804 the Electorate of Bavaria decided to privatize the brewery. In 1884 Johann Baptist Jacob, great-grandfather of the current generation of owners, Marcus and Friedrich Jacob, acquired the company. The next two generations Jacob (each with first name Friedrich) took over his pioneering spirit and the iron will to keep the company up to date for the benefit of quality and employees. The continuation of the family tradition is assured even today. For the future, the next generation of Jacob is ready to successfully carry the centuries-old values into the fifth generation.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. A birthday gift from the missus. Clouded orange. Lovely thick rocky white foam. It’s all here. Sweet orange flesh. Wheat. Bit of your banana and clove yeast. Taste has a wheaty fruity sweetness. Touch of dryness. Smooth and foamy. Modicum of bitterness rounds it up nicely.

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Lots of caramel, dried fruit, some toast. A bit cloying sweet, not the best balanced doppelbock.

Bottle. Xmas gift of the missus. Pretty ugly dirty dark bronze. Bit of a scummy off white foam. High on the cloveage and bananage. Some malt loaf. Some tea. Taste is pretty sweet overall. Fairly smooth. Sweet finish.
