Jacob Altbayerisch Hell, Flasche von Grabsch, Berlin-Lichterfelde. - Goldgelb, blank; kurzlebiger Schaum. - In der Nase feines weißbrotiges helles Malz und die klassische, mild-aromatische Hopfung eines bairischen Hellen, fein kräuterig und zart zitronig. - Antrunk satt hellmalzig mit leicht muffigen Zügen, deutlicher Malzsüße und nur matter herbaler Hopfung mit etwas Zitronenschale. Durchschnittlich rezent, leicht limonadenartig. Im Abgang recht muffig und stumpf. - Nach der angenehmen Nase hatte ich ein solides Helles erwartet, aber die lieblose Aromatik und der dünne Körper enttäuschen. (11.11.2023.)

500ml bottle from The Wine Seller, Compton, Wolverhampton. Hazed golden amber appearance, medium white head. Soft yeasty nose. Flavour profile is a touch subdued, certainly lacks a freshness about it. Perhaps better at the source.

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Süßlich getreidiger Geruch. Geschmacklich getreidig, leicht malzig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, leichter Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.

500ml bottle. Pours hazy dull gold with a large head. Aroma is sweet wheaty clove with a little bubblegum. Taste has wheat to start with a light clove finish.

500ml from Raynville Superstore. It pours clear amber with small fluffy white head. The aroma is nutty, woody, digestive biscuits, brown bread, grassy, leafy and dull orange marmalade. The taste is crisp, fairly dry, light bitterness, snappy, nutty, woody, brown bread, digestive biscuit, leafy, grassy, orange marmalade, caramel and a touch of spice with a drying finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Quite an interesting lagerbier.
