[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] An amber pour with a close white head; fruity aroma; quite oily in the mouth with a taste of peach and nectarine, and a smooth grainy body; then a lingering bitter finish. Very pleasant.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a loose white head; weak tropical fruit aroma; watery tropical fruit squash taste; and a light grassy bitterness. Not unpleasant, but lacking taste and body.

Chestnut brown with a small frothy white head and a toffee malt and mellow floral hop aroma. Light to medium bodied, has a touch of chewiness to it, sweet toffee, maybe some chocolate, floral hops lighten it and offer a touch of bitterness, finishes dry and bittersweet.

Cask at the Crown Rivers, Heathrow T5. It pours darkest brown to black with fluffy khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, earthy, umami, liquorice, coffee grounds and charred notes. The taste is firmly dry, some bitterness, dark roasted malt, rich coffee character, toasty spice, umami, liquorice, chewy, toothy, burnt toast and a nip of alcohol with a dry and dark roasty finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and slightly sticky mouth feel. Interesting and quaffable. Good spoons fest offering.

Cask at the Metropolitan Bar (Wetherspoons), Baker Street, London. A very dark brown/mahogany coloured pour with a medium off white/beige head on top. Roasty, malty, dark fruit, slight chocolate. Slightly bitter, it's OK.

Hand pulled half pint in my local Spoons on Tuesday 10th March 2026. Pale golden pour, bright and clean, on top a white crown. Weak fruity hops in this, the beer with the least ABV in the festival. Not my favourite.
