Bottle split at the Soapy returns tasting, Mother Arch ii, thanks to Tipple, 27/04/23. Black with a tan head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, dried fruit rinds, light spice. Taste comprises chocolate, figgy jam, spice, prunes, fruit cake mix, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost and modest barrel aspects. Okay.

Bottle shared in London. Cheers to Tipple. Pours black-brown with a frothy tan head. Rich taste, some dried dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish. Good one.

Can. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, quite light, a reasonable amount of dark chocolate. The cherry is up front and centre. Not much else going on but what there is, is pretty decent.

Bottle shared at scopey homecoming tasting at kernel. many thanks. A dark anniversary brown coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, waxy, brown sugars green apple, cinnamon, bark,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy, raspberry, dark chocolate, jammy raspberry chocolate. Nice.

750ml bottle shared at Kernel. It pours soft, sticky, toasted brown sugars, sappy, toasted brown sugar, nutty, malt loaf, and earth. The taste is sweet, juicy, tangy, fruity, dried fruits, cranberry, raspberry, fudgey, bramble, jammy, candy, thick, chewy warming alcohol with a sticky mouth feel. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. Tasty. Fulsome and jammy.

Young Master Add Oil BA Imperial Coffee Stout 10.5% On tap at CBM LUCUA 990¥ for 100ml. Deep inky black with Ruby highlights and a smooth coffee aroma which reminded me of the excellent Bacon n’ Eggs from Pizza Port. On taking a sip you get the coffee but then a sudden hit of bourbon barrel with cherry oak notes before the ultra smooth coffee beer regains control. Super easy to drink and all around a great beer from HK. I should track down a bottle.

Bottled@PBF XII, Black colour, small head. Aroma is raisins, prunes, ripe fruits and raspberries. Flavour is berries, yeast and raisins with some toffee. Mild wood too.
