Keg at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear yellow with a strong, white cream head. Some dusty straw in the nose, lemon citrus. Medium sweet flavor with doughy pale malts, some herbs, melon. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Lightly resinous finish with more lightly doughy pale malts, some lemon, dry pine, faint grass, white sugar. Average at best.

Bottle at home (Beermerchants.com) 27/11/12. Pours mahogony brown witha thin tan head that soon dissipates entirely leaving no edgeing, just the odd little pools of bubbles atop the glass. Nose is roast malts, dark fruits, coffee tones, treacle toffee, touch of smoke, light medicinal notes. At first I thought there wasn’t a lot doing with the aroma of this beer, but it does have some complexity, just pretty subtle and not a nasal assault. Tastes of light roast malt, dark fruits, prunes, dates, coffee, light hops, pinch of chocolate. Light to medium body - a touch watery even, surprisingly light for 6.8% with light spritzy carbonation leading to a roasty finish. Ok - but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this again!

Keg at The Rake, London. Pours clear orange with a light, white film head. Pleasant dry pumpkin aroma, light spices and toasty bread malts. Medium sweet flavor with restrained but still tasty pumpkin character, some toasty bread, mild leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with toasty sugars and bread, some fruitiness, nice pumpkin, background spices. A well crafted pumpkin beer.

Medium to big sweet flavor, fairly sweet malts, hints of caramel, pronounced bread, light grapefruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly resinous, lots of bready malts, grapefruit, light orange. It’s a bit sweet but quite tasty overall.

Euston Tap. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Creamy caramel malt - lots of! Odd lactose sweetness. Nugget hops are piney here and slightly minty, just a trace of citrus. Finishes crisp and semi dry. Drinkable but too much caramel and lactose for a DIPA (which this really isn’t).

500 ml bottle, marked 4.4% ABV, thanks to Reza from 3 Små Rum! BB 04 MAY 2013, sampled on November 22, 2012.Clear amber color, white head. Sweet, malty, caramel scent. Malty, sweet, grain, caramel taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. English character malt coming through in both scent and taste.

From tap at Union Tap. Pours cloudy yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, toasted malty and light caramelish. Bitter and lingering fruity. Dry and herbal finish.

Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Plenty of ripe citrus to finish, mild sticky resins, lots of orange, some mild earthy bitterness. Decent brew.

Medium sweet flavour with some lightly toasted sugars, juicy orange, tangerine, melon, light pine, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sticky, resinous finish, some bready malts, hints of brown sugar, more juicy orange and other citrus, a few leaves and grass. Very drinkable, nicely balanced DIPA.
