About
In 2012, The Harbour Brewing Co. was just a fledgling idea: to brew proper beer reflecting the land (and shores) from where it came. Taking the best raw ingredients - awesome hops, Cornish spring water tapped straight from the source - and bringing them to life through dedication to technique. The concept evolved by the ocean - hence, 'Harbour' - but the beer came into being on the farm. There is joy in returning to the roots of the ingredients. And the heritage of the space, of the land, of the ocean, remain our inspiration. Everything clicks; the farm is Harbour's home.

Bottle from Tesco Supermarket, Failsworth. Hazy golden appearance with a small head. Distinctively bland tasting with its citric influence, which isn't very harsh and perhaps a tad dirty tasting in this too. Lemon is evident

330ml can from the brewery. Pours a misty gold, small white head. Lightly sweet tropical fruit aroma. Pleasant pale, light tropics at play but quite tame overall.

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Golden with a head. This is a very hoppy ale, with some dryness, tasting full as you'd expect from a brew of this strength. Does lack a little flavour though.

375ml bottle from Harbour Brewery, drunk at our first BBQ of the year by the River Severn. Misty golden orange pour, good white froth. Aroma of soft lemon, malt, yeast. Ok saison overall, the four years since it was brewed are starting to show, with it not being particularly harmonious, but it's a pleasant sipper, mild on the saison yeast, with distant lemon meringue shades.

Can from Beer52. Murky brown with a light tan head. Chocolate with blackberries, brown sugar and and a hint of pine. Felt closer to a porter than a black IPA. Pleasant enough.

375ml bottle, picked up from Harbour Brewery in Cornwall. Best before 2019. Gushes on opening. Pours reddish mahogany amber, sparse off-white foam. Aroma brings a lightly spicy red berry influence, a touch musty. Interesting taste alluding to red wine, red berry, with distant barrel dust creeping in. No information on the bottle, so assume this was part of a box set with accompanying booklet. Settles into quite a nice delicate red ale with soft fruity barrel-aged touches.

330ml can. Pours lightly hazy lemon gold with a large, frothy head. Aroma is sweaty lemon and pine. Taste is lemon to start with a sweet, sweaty finish. A bit gassy.

Thin beige head left a spotty cover on a coca cola coloured body. Nutty & coffee aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & sharp on the back. Coffee, malt, toffee, bitter, hoppy & pithy tastes. That's harsh.

440ml can: BBE June 2022. Drank at home on my patio, 23rd March 2022. A Cold IPA with Prickly Pear, Oh Really! Misty body, purple I suppose, head a lighter shade of purple I suppose. Taste and smell is Cactus I suppose, some citrus bits from the hops I suppose. I suppose it's OK!
