Description
It all started with a humble homebrew kit and the drive to make better beer. Tired of the same bland and dated choices everywhere, Air Force friends Eric Wallace and Dick Doore set out to make the kind of beer that excited them; beer they wanted to drink. A hobby quickly became an obsession and it wasn't long before Left Hand Brewing opened for business on January 22, 1994. Left Hand has steadily increased its production, making the Brewers Association’s Top 50 Craft Brewers list in 2012.

Light grass notes, with some solid floral hops. Good malt build, and some great grainy cereals. Medium bitter finish. Great malty aftertaste. Nice pils.

very light on the hops, more of a malty beer than anything else. Quite earthy, light piney hops, and alot of bready malts.

Very light pour, looked like a porter, with a very lively thin head. Aroma of roasted malt, and not much else. Mouth feel was watery, and was pretty much all roasted malt with a light coffee finish. disappointing.

Nitro bottle - I bought this because it was 11 bucks a four pack at the grocery store - Lett Hand has historically done pretty well with these nitro bottled products - but they used to have widgets in the bottle - this does not have that - the bottle just says “pour hard to unleash the nitro magic” - well, I poured as hard as I could and got no magic - what I basically got was flat beer - flat and disappointing in the mouth - it tastes like a cheap cream-based cocktail - tastes like someone poured chocolate syrup into cheap vodka - super boozy and cloyingly sweet - this shit sucks - I bought some Wake Up Dead (also for cheap at the grocery store) - maybe I need to cut this with that.

bottle from Dakine, thanks!
Slightly light pour, it’s a dark brown, not so much black. The aroma is intoxicating, lots of chocolate, and some nice sweet malt. But i cant get my nose out of the glass, it’s like smelling chocolate cake, or brownies, i love it!
the flavour isn;t as full bodied as the aroma would make you believe. There is some nice malt, and somokiness in the flavour, and the hops come through a tad in the finish. A really decent porter.

Pours near black with a small, lingering tan head. Smells of chocolate, roast malt, and coffee. The flavor is definitely on the sweet side. There’s chocolate and lactose and while roasty, it doesn’t taste as dark as many imperial stouts. Still very good.
