Description
Established in 2005 and bottling since 2008. Headed by Phil and brewed by Rob, we’re a small team brewing a wide range of beers in cask, keg, bottle and can. Along with a core offering we also have seasonal brews and a one off brew range called ‘New Tricks’. Experimental recipes are run through our small batch kit before trying them out on the main kit and releasing them to the masses. Some of these have proved so popular that they’ve graduated to our core range.

19/7/2024. Cask at the 2024 Chelmsford Summer Beer & Cider Festival. Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, light liquorice edge. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this, beer of the festival.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 8 May 2024) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and red berries. Malty, roasted taste with espresso, cacao, soy sauce, a touch of tar, sweet liquorice, molasses and a balanced coffee bitterness in a sweetish finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and tasty, still well rounded and in good balance. Very nice.

All a bit light and airy-fairy tbh. Clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head, not much of an aroma, just a hint of biscuit malt, thin and just a bit grassy with maybe a hint of fruit
