22oz bottle pours a very murky black, with ruby edges and plenty of frothy, tan head. Nose has a lot of cocoa powder, plenty of roast, bordering on smoke, quite earthy too, some wet tree bark/mushroom, a little caramel. Flavor has a lot of chocolate syrup, malt, molasses, licorice, a little smoke, some BBQ sauce, chewy grain. Full bodied and mostly dry.

12 oz can purchased as a single at the Hy Vee near Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. The pour is a clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is clove, sweet malt, bit of wheat and general spice. The taste is sharp coriander, banana, weird celery salt, the clove herbal of the nose, wheat grain and general, muddled malt dirtiness. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered, low carbonation and the dirty muddled spice and yeast after taste.

Pale orange with a white head. Fruity, malt, a bit of pine. Something just seems off with this beer. Tastes like mediocre homebrew. Not good.

32 oz growler shared by jcwattsrugger, much thanks! Deep ruby pour with no head. Aroma has a nice mild whiskey, rye malts, caramel candies and light oak.

The flavor is much the same and very rich amounts of malt and a nice underlying of of whiskey character. The body is medium with some nice lingering amount oak in the after taste. Very nice.
