Description
In 1865, William Moorhouse, a local Burnley lad, founded the brewery. He took great pride in his home town and his craft, originally producing mineral waters. In 1870, he built his own brewery, producing renowned beers, including his low alcohol Hop Bitters for the temperance bars across the North West.
Rejuvenation
Hard times hit in 1985 and Bill Parkinson, a local man passionate about beer, was sipping a pint of Pendle Witches Brew one day, when he heard of the plight of the brewery. He bought it, invested in a new brew plant and the rest is history. With many twists and turns along the way, we have embraced the traditions, values and entrepreneurial spirit of our founder ready for exciting times ahead.

Clear golden amber with a frothy / creamy white head and floral hops and malt on the nose. Smooth and lots of bitterness, some malt and a hint of fruit, with a dry finish.

Fluffy white head left a spotty cover on clear pale golden coloured body. Fruity hoppy aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with sharp back. Citra, bubble gum & stone fruit tastes with a malted caramel undercurrent. Lovely Pint.

Bottle from local Asda. Pours a golden orange with a small dense cream head. Malts to the fore in the aroma, but also nuts and a hint of oranges. In the mouth ? Sip 1 : toffee, treacle, malts and marmalade. Sip 2 : apples and summer fruits. Finish is appreciably more bitter. A nice solid premium bitter – good for swigging.
