I didn't realise 'Aspin' was a series of changing hop brews until today... probably missed loads of crafted efforts by BJ since my first one of this name last May. But this slightly deeper golden coloured one hasn't passed me by. Dirtier pine is evident in both aroma and taste, which is never the best, but texture-wise this is excellent being crisp and easy and despite lots of bubbles not over carbonated as I had expectations of during its pour.

A bold title for quite an average brew. Clear golden coloured ale with dirty tasting citrus, also in aroma too. Quite a smooth cask pour, I guess it's supposed to taste this way, but never too appealing.

After over half a dozen incarnations the drinking beer has come full circle (i.e. starting again, not the brewer). Clear golden amber coloured brew. Hoppy in the main within its style, and it's solid enough in this respect, also with an underlying sweetness. It's always easy, and disappeared down my palate before I've finished rating it.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy golden brown with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and butter in the aroma plus hints of malts and citrus. In the mouth it is sweet and tangy with flavour of mixed hops, oranges and citrus. Hints of ginger and underlying biscuits come later. Finally there is melon which upsets it all and lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is decent – until ruined by the melon !
