A crocodile can travel at 6 MPH, but unlike, this very dark amber-brown coloured mild doesn't have much bite. Although its texture and taste IS mild, there's a grittiness to its dark malty, edging towards roasted character, which does linger in its aftertaste. There's also a flash of the medicinal within some of its aroma and taste.

11/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Asked for a taster as the previous ones from this brewery hadn’t been great. It’s a sweet, malty, chocolatey dark lager. Some mild bitterness came through. Better than the two I just had thirds of.

11/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Good pour. Aroma is malty, toasted, caramel, musty citrus, hedgerow, blackberry. Quite sweet, with some earthy husky notes. Medium body, quite smooth, low carbonation. This is #5 of 6 of the Blackjack beers at the festival and none have wowed me.

Lemon, tropical fruits, zesty peel and pungent spices make for an involved, multifaceted liquid pass. Sweet, pungent and sour citrus finish. Smooth mouthfeel and a full body

A beer to fall in love with given it's Valentine's Day. Very dark amber-brown in colour, with a nicening head atop. Tasty dark malts are neither roasted, nor is it bitter, but a creamy aftertaste, evident in aroma too makes the difference. The American hops in here clearly have a positive impact too.
