Had this at Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford, Thursday 17th October 2013 Light gold in colour with a slim head of white dancing bubbles, clarity is excellent, best looking beer so far. A little butteryness on nose is only just edged out by citrus. Sweet golden beer that is lacking a little bite, it is hoppy and with a reasonable bitterness but it is found wanting a little and is no match for the two Clarkshaw efforts. A6 A5 T6 P3 Ov12 3.2

Cask gravity at Six Bells Woodchurch. Clear gold lasting white head. Now that is hoppy. PNW hop aroma. Unfortunately it does tend towards the cheesy hop. Funny how so many breweries in the UK throw a load of usa hops at a beer and end up with cheese. Ok

Cask at IMBC 2013. It pours near black with a thick beige head. The nose is smooth, roasty, coffee, creaminess, juicy berry and jam. The taste is smooth, tangy berry, roasted malt, toast, earth, good bitterness, liquorice and jam with a very dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Rather nice.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Great lacing. Muted aroma of vegetables, peach and lemon. Flavour of vine tomatoes, oranges melon and grass. Taste is very smooth for 6.8% ABV, but it lacks the punchy hoppy intensity I was expecting. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Average carbonation. A decent IPA but not one I’d rush back to in a hurry. Lacking the intensity and bitterness of the very best IPAs.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Lightly hazy pale gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light, semi dry and crispy. Nice hops - floral lemon zest with lesser orange citrus. Thin malt underneath. Light dry finish. Crisp, tasty and refreshing.
