Description
In 1858 Timothy Taylor began brewing beer in Cook Lane in the West Riding town of Keighley. He clearly struck upon a successful formula for in 1863 he set up and built a larger brewery at Knowle Spring, where the company has remained ever since.

The superb spring water that wells up from deep under the Pennines is still used today to produce the country's best traditional cask ales.

The brewery remains in the Taylor family and is now the last independent brewery of its type left in West Yorkshire. This independence enables Taylors to survive as one of the few brewers still brewing true cask ales in the same way it has always done."Taylor's Taste" is achieved by using only the finest natural ingredients, taking pride in the brewing process and allowing full time for the ales to ferment and mature, thereby creating a unique family of beers.

We have come a long way since 1858. Our beers have won many awards and worldwide acclaim. This is seen within our product range.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, from K Supermaker Kamppi, Helsinki) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was quite small, white, bubbly and long lasting. Aroma had hops, grain, dry hay and grass. Palate was medium bodied and bit dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grain, hops, grass, mild fruitiness, hint of sweetness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Slight musty character both in aroma and in taste. Still a good hoppy bitter.

From Good Beer Guide recommended pub Old Queens Head, Aldham, Essex. I have found Timothy Taylor Landlord to be a bit hit and miss and rather over rated in the past, but this one yesterday was served up really well and was an enjoyable pint.

Tap at Argyll Arms. Pours a clear, copper-gold with a faint, bubbly white head. Ginger cake aroma, malty, with very little hops. Lightly sweet flavor, quite malty with more cake notes, mild spices, and perhaps the faintest hints of bitterness. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Has a sweet finish with easy, earthy bitters finally acting up. (3.6)

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a lasting, off-white foam head. Aroma holds some juicy berries, doughy brown bread. Lifht sqeet flavor with toasty sugars, tasty bread, light leafy bitterness, light esters. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Superb condition. Great finish, moderate bready malt sweetness, light leafy hops, further berries. Just an absolute classic bitter. On form this is hard to beat. (4.0)

Cask, Hesketh Golf Club with Brad..The first one of these didn’t touch the sides after a mean 18 in the sizling late summer sun. Standard golden colour with a medium sized creamy white head. Nose revealed some grassy hop, citrus and malt notes. Flavour had a malty spine with some fruity character and restrained yet well placed hoppage. Definitely one of the better beers out there at this strength. Straightforward and tidy thirst quencher that is pretty dang moreish. Fore !
