Description
In 1858 Timothy Taylor began brewing beer in Cook Lane in the West Riding town of Keighley. He clearly struck upon a successful formula for in 1863 he set up and built a larger brewery at Knowle Spring, where the company has remained ever since.
The superb spring water that wells up from deep under the Pennines is still used today to produce the country's best traditional cask ales.
The brewery remains in the Taylor family and is now the last independent brewery of its type left in West Yorkshire. This independence enables Taylors to survive as one of the few brewers still brewing true cask ales in the same way it has always done."Taylor's Taste" is achieved by using only the finest natural ingredients, taking pride in the brewing process and allowing full time for the ales to ferment and mature, thereby creating a unique family of beers.
We have come a long way since 1858. Our beers have won many awards and worldwide acclaim. This is seen within our product range.

Pours a deep amber with an amazingly persistent thick head.Aroma is restrained, with sweet caramel malt, light fruity notes, a hint of honey and somewhat grassy hops.Similar flavours with more caramel and grassy notes, some toffee and a mild bitterness.Low carbonation and body, very drinkable.

Cask (@ Bricklayer’s Arms, Putney): Deep ruby-amber coloured, small lacey brownish head; dry hoppy and roast-malty nose with a subtle, but distinctive fruitiness in the background; moderate bitter flavour, light bodied, but not watery, smooth; slightly lingering moderate fruity-bitter finish. Pleasant, a fine session brew.........

Cask: Very deep amber coloured, small lacy brownish head with pink spots; sweet caramel in the otherwise hoppy and fruity nose; relatively light bodied, smooth, robust bitter-sweet flavour; almost a tinge of molasses in the dryish lingering hoppy-fruity (dried fruits) finish. Fine characterful brew.........

Very typical aroma of some hops and a lot of wateriness and some tinniness. Looks alright, decent head, okay gold-amber hue. Taste has some kind of herbal hint to it, a bready and bitter back-end, slight complexity for sure but not spectacular. Just okay.
