Small coarse white head. Yellowish body. No discernible aroma. Dry-sweetish caramel and roasted almonds taste with notes of honey and nuts. Thinnish body. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Dry floral caramel aftertaste, kind of watery, with resiny notes. A bit watery, but still nice. (0.25l cask, The Bricklayer’s Arms, Putney, London.)

500ml bottle from Luvians, St Andrews. Deep, copper-amber body over a gradually fading, beige head. Nice smell of earth hop resin with a touch of grapefruit coming through. Initial taste of grapefruit shells with a smooth bitter support. Soft carbonated. Well balanced and good, but can not match a well kept cask version [10.11.2008].

Cask at Bricklayers Arms, Putney, London, 22 Nov 2008. Dark brown colour with ruby hints. Brief, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, roasted nuts, caramel, dark fruit and a short cocoa bitterness in the finish. Below medium body, dry throughout. In short: a decent chocolatey mild with hints of dark fruit.

Cask at Bricklayers Arms, Putney, London, 22 Nov 2008. Dark amber colour with brief, white head. Malty nose with dried fruit, nuts, biscuity malt and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of nuts, bittersweet citrus and earthy hops in the finish. Balanced sweetness throughout. Very nice session bitter in great balance.

From cask at Cloisters. Pours slight cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is light caramel malty. First flavour impression on the tip of the tongue is sweet. Followed by a more fruity impression and ending medium dry and bitter. Dry yet also slight fruity finish.

Golden color. Like the Emerards Equinox tasted side to side, it has a light apple aroma. But this one at least has a normal body strength and some caramel flavor. Correct bitterness. Quite refreshing.

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of spices, malt, and peaches. The falvor is sweet matly with notes of caramel cinnamon and elderberries, leading to a dry bitter finish.

bottle, Waitrose Sidmouth. Clear copper-brown colour, mid-sized head. Fruity and malty, hints of caramel and raisins. The finish has got some rather intensive and spicy hoppy flavours. Well-balanced, a good one.

Cask. Weak grainy aroma. Good creamy flavour and mouthfeel. Almost clear copper colour. The flavour has a distinct bitterness, not rough. Mild fruitiness. Good standard bitter.
