Cask at the Waterloo Tap, 14/10/16. Mahogany brown with a decent khaki cap. Nose is sweet malts, brown sugars, stewed fruits, bourbon biscuit. Taste comprises toffee, molasses, sweet malts, toasted brown bread, fruit esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Average stuff, too sweet and lacking balance, couldn’t drink a lot of this.

Can at home in London - picked up at Offie & Toffee. Pours clear, rich gold with a moderate, foamy white head. The aroma has some tropical aspect, a bit of orange rind, pale bread. Light-medium sweet flavour with pleasant piney bitterness, very faintly toasted pale malts, some more orange rind, mango. Light bodied with average carbonation. Crispy finish, with light resinous pine, quenching bitterness, understated sweetness, more rindy notes. Really solid APA.

Keg from the Hop Gate, Derby, Saturday 10th September 2016 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Tasty beer with lots of bitter cocoa powder. Good malty body but a nice fresh hop bitterness, bitter numbing hoppy rub across the roof of the mouth, chocolate comes through again. Lovely. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
