Description
Our beers are made of passion and knowledge, culture and innovation, memories and visions of endless worlds real and futuristic.
Giovanni Campari founded Birrificio del Ducato together with two other partners. Giovanni is still the brewmaster of the brewery, which officially began the production of craft beer on March 27th 2007 in Roncole Verdi, Busseto (PR). The historic production site was transformed into Sour Brewery in 2015, when we transferred the main brewery to the new headquarters in Soragna (PR). Here we produce the main beer lines, through a fully automated system, which includes advanced PLC controls and centrifugal separator. The brewery currently has a 60-hl 5-vessel brewhouse and a total cellar capacity of 1200 hl.
At the end of 2016 Duvel Moortgat acquired 35% of the shares of the brewery. In 2018 Duvel Moortgat acquired 70% of the brewery’s shares, investing its resources in a new laboratory and in a new bottling line.

Good, but fast disappearing yellow-brown head over deep brown beer with some reddish shine. Coffee, wood, brown sugar and very coloured malts. Sweet coffee, coffee with sugared milk, and a pinch of... rhubarb? Ends on dry wood retronasal. Medium bodied, very slick. Very good for such a light ABV beer.

Yellow-pistacchio head over bright red-amber beer; end of bottle cloudy. C-hops, very dry, bit of cookies, dried orange peel. Very well malt (caramel-,cookie-)backed USA hops for a good IPA. EXCELLENT balance. Very slightly burning MF, slick, well-bodied. It is rare to find such a balanced IPA. For an Italian one, this is an instant classic.

Small yellowish head over clear yellow-golden beer. Very hoppy, dry hoppy aroma, and yet quite some malt (pilsner -) Dry, very balanced beer hop-malt, but malt wins out eventually. Every new sip agian some dry bitterness. Light, very light - spritzy even when not carbonated artificially. Very nice artisanal pilsener! Grazie to the brewer!

Good head, whitish; clear amber-orange beer. Complex spicy & floral nose, but also a bit medicinal; gingeraroma. Bitterish taste with a background of spices and herbs. Again medicinal, but quite tolerable. Dry, even dry-out effect (the ginger?). Quite likeable beer; but for sipping and enjoying rather than for "quaffing".

Draught at Bi-Du Beer Fest 2007
Cloudy orange color; creamy head leaving a nice lace. It has a nice aroma of Goldings or other British hops, and cereals. Good mouthfeel, soft, with some malt flavor; it shows also a powerful and quite aromatic hopping; the spices can’t be detected (which is good for me). A very good English Golden Ale.
