Description
Our beers are made of passion and knowledge, culture and innovation, memories and visions of endless worlds real and futuristic.

Giovanni Campari founded Birrificio del Ducato together with two other partners. Giovanni is still the brewmaster of the brewery, which officially began the production of craft beer on March 27th 2007 in Roncole Verdi, Busseto (PR). The historic production site was transformed into Sour Brewery in 2015, when we transferred the main brewery to the new headquarters in Soragna (PR). Here we produce the main beer lines, through a fully automated system, which includes advanced PLC controls and centrifugal separator. The brewery currently has a 60-hl 5-vessel brewhouse and a total cellar capacity of 1200 hl.

At the end of 2016 Duvel Moortgat acquired 35% of the shares of the brewery. In 2018 Duvel Moortgat acquired 70% of the brewery’s shares, investing its resources in a new laboratory and in a new bottling line.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a very dark brown with an orange hue and a rough, beige head. Hard roasted malts in the aroma with a little licorice. Light body, a little low in carbonation, roasted soft malty accents and a whiff of sweet licorice. Discreet malt bitterness. Pleasant alright. 011108

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a largish, white heead and a hazy golden body. The head sticks around quite well. Aroma of light pear, a sweet note, ginger, honeysuckle, chamomile, and pepper corns. Taste has strong lavander, and peper corns with ginger towards the finish. Quite dry tasting. Dry mouthfeel with light carbonation and a slight pepper astringency.

Bottle at LCRBM08. Good bready aroma. Creamy and vinous flavour, good pepperiness. Black colour, small brown head. Good roasted coffee aftertaste. Tastes like real pepper aftertaste.

Bottle @ LCRBM 08: Poured a black with brown head. Aroma is coffee and that leads straight into the taste. Not much else for me to say other than I am impressed its Italian!

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Interesting little italian beer (as always). Pours a clear yellow with a quickly vanishing white head. Weak aroma of grassy hops and hay. Taste is hoppy with a hay astringency and a bit of fruits. Pretty bitter/astringent overall. Fizzy.

No head, copper-foxy beer. Solvent, diacetyl, powerfull and imposing - and not pleasing. Sharp MF, not finished, worts in full fermentation, hence the diacetyl, etc. Slick, buttery MF... Finish the beer, please.

Huge, towering yellow head over hazy orange beer. Orange aroma, estery and fruity, bananaester. Sweet, malty taste, but essentialy some oxydized malts. Very carbonated MF, long lasting sweetness. Too oxydized in the main taste.

Cloudy amber color, poor head. Regular ale, grainy, a bit malty, sweetish, low bitterness. Enjoyable, correctly brewed but a bit simple.

Cloudy dark amber color. Light malt aroma, caramel, yeast, glue, vegetables; simple. Lightly sweetish, some malt flavor, average bitterness. Simple.
