330 ml bottle. Pours black with almost no head, Aromas of dark fruit, oily coffee, and rich dark malts. Flavors of sweet dark fruit (possibly dried plums), fruit liqueur, light woody vinous port barrel, rich black coffee, and slick roast malts. Really complex. Really good.

(Thx!) 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Billie’s Bier Kafetaria. Bottle says JAN 2015. Black only a small ring of tanned bubbles on the side. Nose is sweet fruity umami, quite syrupy with thick madeira, red vinous fortified wine jam, thick barrel,… Taste is quite interesting, strongly boozy, faint varnish, Madeira is massive, thick fortified wine syrup, strongly vinous, warming, fruity, umami prunes & plums, low Coca-Cola, sugar,… Carbonation is barely there adding to the very sweet fortified wine & malt syrup qualities,… Quite interesting, this is a beer that admire more than I fully love it. Barrel is a bit too heavy here, taking the beer over with little in the way of carbonation,… As I said, interesting & admirable experiment but a bit flawed.

Many thanks to djoeye for sharing a 330ml bottle of this one. The oily pour reveals a pitch black body. Just a small ring of bubble to the rim. No lacing. Inviting aromas of dark grapes, plums and caramel malts. Dried fruity flavours supported by wood, caramel and chocolate malts. A solid malt--fruity ending, slightly roasted and warming down the throat. Excellent slow beer (Session with Finn and djoeye, Tromsø 07.9.2016).
