Cask handpump at the Plough, Chelmsford. Golden brown colour with a small slightly off-white head. Nice aroma of hops, straw and grass, floral with a touch of citrus. Medium body, slightly bitter finish pitched at right level. A very nice couple of pints enjoyed whilst watching the Cricket.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a fine, white cream head. Dry bread, lightly toasted dough, moderate leafy bitterness. A pretty standard bitter. Fair balance. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light dry, bitter leaves to finish, further toasty bread. OK.
